Straight away I was confused because from the BIOS we could see the CPU cooler (Corsair H115i, stock fans replaced with a couple of Noctua NF-P14s) was working well, keeping the CPU under 30C which is great, fans are spinning, although the pump's light is not on. Everything went smoothly with the build until a restart caused by a Windows update started showing the error "CPU Fan speed error detected." on the POST screen. The motherboard is a Maximus VIII Hero running BIOS version 2202. So I've helped my friend build her first PC, it's a very similar spec to my own so I'm familiar with all the components. I'm aware there's been some threads about the same issue but none of them have helped us solve this one. I am an experienced PC builder but need some help troubleshooting a strange issue a friend of mine is having with a PC I helped her build.
